Part-Time, Year Round positionVariable day and night shifts as business demands MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYSSUMMARY The Banquet Supervisor assists the manager in making sure all events are ready for service, keeps all staff on task, and checks with group coordinators and kitchen staff to ensure satisfaction and perfection.
The supervisor works as part of a team to ensure the proper set-up, service, and billing of all group functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
In the absence of the Banquet Manager, oversee the banquet function and banquet employees to ensure that our guests receive excellent service to the Sundance Standard.
Execute tasks and duties assigned by guest and/or manager.
Set buffets and assist in maintaining service throughout event.
Observe guests, respond to any additional requests, and clear upon completion of meal.
Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.
Complete or assign opening and closing duties.
Calculate bills accurately in accordance with Sundance accounting procedures.
Oversee 2-3 events at a time.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of bartending and setting a bar.
Understand and comply with all state laws regarding alcohol and service.
Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and housepersons.
Keep a timeline for servers to follow.
Double check timing and making adjustments as deemed necessary.
Oversee set-up staff, ensuring that meeting spaces are clean and organized.
Set rooms according to Banquet Event Orders and make sure buildings are stocked and clean.
Ensure storage is managed to be in compliance with fire codes.
Create cleaning schedules including the major cleaning of all back of the house banquet areas and storage areas.
Coordinate cleaning with housekeeping staff to ensure buildings are clean and organized.
Support the recycling program.
Oversee the proper storage and care of all service supplies, linens, china/glass/silver, and catering supplies.
Inventory Banquet equipment quarterly.
Oversee the delivery and return of all rental item requests from the client.
Care for other items as requested by the client.
Stock inventory of service items (teas, coffees, sodas, sugar, paper products, etc.
).
Order and track inventory of supplies.
Work under the direction of the manager to ensure buildings are cared for and in proper working conditions.
Maintain and organize all meeting spaces, storage rooms and equipment.
Assist in cleanliness of Sundance vehicles and follows Sundance Safety vehicle guidelines.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example:
minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats, carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions.
All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise a team of up to 25 employees in setting up and breaking down rooms and areas on property.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted.
Men's shirts must be tucked in.
Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Dress sandals are permitted for females.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Tan or khaki pants, no cargo pants or capris Uniform shirts provided by manager.
Black aprons to be worn while on the floor in front of guests.
Black leather shoes required, sneakers are prohibited while clocked in.
Hair must be cleaned and combed.
Long hair must be worn off the face.
No jewelry except for stud earrings and a wedding band.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Helpful to have a basic understanding of technical equipment, but not necessary.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid U.
S.
Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
Must possess or obtain a valid food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
Must possess or obtain a valid alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.
